Rise of Symbolism When the volume of poems was originally released in 1857, it was different than the traditional way poetry was done. It used more senses/arts to bring a new life to poetry. In the 1900s, this was further developed into what we now know as Symbolism, which had a big rise during this time in many literature works.
1910s The Job

Women's Rights Movement In the early 1900s, the Women's Rights Movement was in full swing. This book tells the story of a woman trying to do what every other woman was doing then, trying to establish herself among everyone else.
1920s The Great Gatsby
(F. Scott Fitzgerald)
The Roaring '20s The 1920s was a crazy time. Culture was changing, and people were doing crazy things. Written by my distant cousin, F. Scott Fitzgerald does an amazing job of telling a story, while sending you back in time to the 1920s to see what it was all about.
1930s A Further Range
(Robert Frost)
The Great Depression Throughout the 1930s, America was facing the Great Depression. It was a very hard and emotional time for a lot of people. Because of that, emotional works such as this one were written to fit the time.
