Community Issue: Hunger	Response
Who … Whom does the issue or problem affect? How does it affect them?	This issue affects more people than the average person would think. Hunger does a lot of bad things such as increased risk of disease, loss of nutrients, and even possibly death.
What … What factors contribute to the problem? What type of service might be most helpful to people affected by the issue?	The main cause is the way food is distributed, as well as not everyone makes the same amount of money to afford all the same things. Food banks help people because they have a place to get what they need at no charge to them.
Where … Where does the issue have greatest impact? Where can you find people working on it?	This issue has a much greater impact in areas with a lower income, as it is harder for people there to get what they need (sadly).
When … When did the issue or problem begin? When is help needed?	This has always been a problem since the dawn of time. Help is always needed to combat the problem of hunger.
Why … Why do people think this issue is important? Why do you think it is important?	This is an important issue because people need food to survive and be healthy.
Resources Record the titles and locations of any books, websites, or people that helped you.	I did not use any external resources, as I already know this information off the top of my head.

What I can do to help—list all steps involved.	As part of the Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge for Scouts, I volunteered at a local food bank to help those in need.

Dates and locations of any events already scheduled by the organization that I can participate in.	I volunteered at the organization between the dates of August 3rd and August 10th, 2020 (12 hours combined).
Is there a minimum age for the task I would like to participate in? Am I old enough?	Under 14 (with parent/guardian). 14-18 (with staff supervision).
How will I get to the event(s) and back home again?	Drive there. It was only about 15 minutes from the house.
Do I have parent or guardian permission? Who can help me and how?	Yes. All I had to do was go on the website and sign up, then show up at the designated time at the designated place.
