1.02H What is Citizenship?

Fellow Congress members, today I speak before you in regard to the safety of immigration within our country. The bill titled as H.R.114 aims to do just that, stating “To require the Secretary of Homeland Security to search all public records to determine if an alien is inadmissible to the United States.” You may ask, how will this bill do just that? First off, it makes the screening process more intensive, as social media and public records would be added to the search process. That way, the government can better filter out the people who may cause harm to the citizens of the country. Social media is one of the biggest homes of terrorist/criminal organizations, where they recruit and even plot their attacks/crimes. Using social media and other public records would be a great addition in helping to make sure that we are not letting these people into our country and posing the risk of harm to the people. Now of course, not everyone is a terrorist or a crime leader. However, they can still cause great harm. By being able to filter out these bad people, the country would be a much safer place and the people would be better protected. People may fear that this is an invasion of their privacy, and I can ensure you that every step will be taken to protect that. This bill would also add more time to the process, but it is worth it if the country is safe. Would you rather have the process be faster, just to let in criminals all the time? Or would you rather have a process that is longer, but ensures that those who would cause harm are not admitted? Everyone deserves to live in a safe country, one without those causing harm to its people and taking advantages of their rights. If you believe in this, please vote for this bill.
